Bayesian Statistics: The Fun Way

Provides a decent enough primer about Bayesian Statistics with, per the author’s claim, fun examples. Despite the frolics, some of the examples can be quite instructive, such as estimating the chances, C3PO-like, of Han Solo making it through the asteroid field alive. The insightfulness isn’t just the power of using a guesstimate prior-probability to tighten a statistical estimation, but in the ah-ha moment that this Bayesian “stuff” really can be quite useful in all kinds of unlikely fashions. For those unfamiliar with Bayesian methods and with a rusty/rudimentary math background, this is a good intro to a subject with far greater importance than most realize.
