There are a lot of books about negotiation, but this one is quite stellar. It really focuses on emotional intelligence, and how to approach negotiations and situations where you’re starting with little to no leverage. The author, Chris Voss, is a former hostage negotiator, and something that stands out about his methodology is that he always wants everyone’s experience with him to be a positive one. Even if the other person seems unrelenting, he wants him/her to walk away feeling happy about their encounter. This book really challenged my way of thinking when it comes to negotiation tactics.
